Nominate your ABTO Board of Directors

In an email to all its member tour operators, ABTO urged the importance of electing a strong Board of Directors in it’s upcoming Annual General Meeting. The email read as:

Although the last date for submission of names of the candidates for the next ABTO Board of Directors is 9th May 2008, this is to kindly remind all our valued members for the submission of the names of the 9 appropriate candidates.

We would like to stress here that the election of appropriate Board of Directors is vital in order for the Association to fulfil its objective to represent the overall interest of all tour operators. Even though General Meetings (Annual or Extraordinary General Meetings) is the apex decision making body, it will be the responsibility of the Board of Directors for the overall management and direction of ABTO.

Further, the Board of Directors represents the Association in various high level committees relating to the tourism industry. Some of these committees are Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB), Executive Committee of Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Tourism Development Fund Management Committee (TDFMC), SAARC Tourism Council (STC), etc. The Board of Directors also represents the general tour operators while discussing issues with TCB, Druk Air, Immigration, HAB, Donor agencies etc.

We would like to reiterate the importance of nominating your candidates for the ABTO Board of Directors and also please find below the procedure: -
