Nominees for ABTO Board of Directors
ABTO announced on the 10th of May that:
The ABTO Secretariat, together with the electoral team selected by the Executive Committee Member, consisting of:
- Mr. Rinzin O. Wangchuk (Vice President),
- Mr. Karma Jamtsho (Executive Committee Member),
- Mr. Karma Lotey (Executive Committee Member),
- Mr. Tek B. Khatiwara (CRO) and
- Mr. Sonam Dorji (General Secretary)
have evaluated the nominations received and short listed the 29 nominees for the ABTO Board of Directors as attached. The nominations were short listed based on securing minimum of 5 nominations per nominee as announced earlier.
During the upcoming 8th AGM on 23rd May 2008 the general members will be electing 9 ABTO Board of Directors from among the 29 short-listed nominees. The election procedure will be as follow: -
- Each member tour operator will be given a stamped and signed election form during the AGM. (One form for one member company).
- Total number of election form distributed will be accounted and also counted upon collection for tally.
- The election form will bear the names of the 29 nominated candidates who have secured minimum of 5 nominations from 5 different member tour operators (as attached).
- Each member is required to tick up to 9 appropriate candidates in the list; whom he/ she wants to opt for the ABTO Board of Directors.
- Once the members have selected the 9 Board of Directors, the forms will be collected.
- The collected forms will be evaluated by Volunteers from the floor and Secretarial Staff.
- In case of a tie (Vote result) of the 9th candidate, the decision will be done by show of hands by the members present during the AGM. However, the two candidates contesting will have to leave the floor.
- The results will be declared by the General Secretary of ABTO.
