Druk Air regrets to inform the general public that due to increase in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and Druk Air having diffiulty to meet its operating costs will, the following flights will be suspended with effect from 1 July 2008 to 30 Sept 2008.
A Druk Air plane flying from Bangkok to Paro on May 1 had to turn back after a crack developed in the pilot’s flight deck left window.
A nervous passenger at Paro airport said, “One hour into the flight, the pilot in a nervous voice announced a technical problem and that we’d be flying back to Bangkok.”
Litigation with a former staff, the loss of pilots and the resignation of the managing director does not seem to be the end of problems for Druk Air. The airline’s recent rescheduling of flights left 275 tourists stranded, hurting more than nine local tour operators.
